ELLA EINSTEINETTE

There is this lady who lives in my neighbourhood and is a total character! Everybody calls her Ella Einsteinette because she reminds them of Albert Einstein. She dresses like she is always trying to be ready in case the library calls and says, ‘Ella, stop by and be ready to sit on a library shelf and be quiet for the next 12 hours.’ She has big horn-rimmed glasses and hair that is messed up in a bun on top of her head. And she always has a book or two or 50 stuffed in her bags. She always smiles and makes conversation, but whenever you talk to her or ask her a question, she spins off these crazy scientific answers. I once asked her what time it was, and what did she do? She proceeded to tell me about Earth’s rotation, daylight saving time, and not to mention how our universe began! I imagined myself shouting something like, "Hey Einstein, your watch says it's 3 o'clock!" at her and couldn't stop laughing. You can’t help but chuckle when you are close to Ella Einsteinette. You never know when she will start talking about quantum physics or molecular biology while delivering her aloof responses to your efforts to engage with her in a conversation.
