ALWAYS TRAVELLING
Faris, a nice guy, loves to travel and go abroad. He’s always flying here and there to exciting destinations. He seems to love travelling. He’s a true wanderer!
"Really, would you believe he owns a house here? Does he even have a house? Or is the airport his permanent residence?" Those are the questions that are constantly on people's minds. Seriously, you rarely see him at home and can barely manage to arrange a discussion for more than a day at a time. He is our town’s travelling guru, our international jetsetter. We like gathering to hear his tales each time he comes back from his latest travels, and he always seems to indulge us with amusing stories.
But here's the funny part: despite his enthusiasm for exploring, he constantly seems to forget what time zone he is in every time he returns. The challenge of catching up with people in the same time zone seems to elude him, so we continually dial him and wake him up at 3 in the morning, or interrupt lunch in a fancy restaurant at 11 p.m. because he has no clue how to figure it out himself and always seems to inadvertently dial us two or three hours off. Showing up late for business meetings is one thing, but waking the wrong person up at the wrong time is one of the quickest ways to upset someone—but at least it’s often amusing. On the other hand, we always love having our very own international travel guru right next door, a passport always handy, and a suitcase always packed.
