Ikran paced anxiously around the room, unable to sit still. His mind was consumed with worry for Maya. Despite the low probability of anything happening to her, he couldn't shake off his concerns. What if his enemies could somehow sense her presence? He knew they would stop at nothing to eliminate Maya. These adversaries were not just ordinary individuals; they were highly skilled and experienced. One wrong move could cost them their lives.
Glancing at the clock, Ikran noticed it was fifteen minutes to two in the morning. Maya should have arrived half an hour ago.
"Where is she?" Ikran muttered to himself, his worry growing. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
"Maya, is that you?" Ikran called out, his heart pounding.
"Yes, Ikran. It's me," Maya replied from outside, her voice trembling. Without hesitation, Ikran swung open the door and urged Maya to enter quickly. Stepping outside, he scanned the surroundings, ensuring no one was passing by.
"How did you manage to make it here?" Ikran asked, his curiosity piqued. Maya's eyes sparkled as he replied, "I made the necessary arrangements," Exhausted, she collapsed onto the bed.
"Did you successfully infiltrate the place?" Ikran inquired eagerly, desperate for answers.
"Yes," Maya answered simply, showing no reaction.
"Are you sure no one will detect you?" Ikran asked again, seeking certainty. He didn't want their cover to be blown.
"Yes, I'm sure. I have already eliminated him," Maya answered confidently.
"Good! Good!" Ikran praised, gently stroking Maya's head.
"Now, what's our next plan? How many more do we have to hunt down?" Maya's questions suddenly brimmed with enthusiasm. She seemed eager to claim the lives of their enemies.
"Tomorrow, we will temporarily halt our operation and rest. We need to determine the whereabouts of our remaining enemies. We have twenty-one targets to eliminate, and we have already taken down three. This means we still have nineteen targets left," explained Ikran, snorting in determination. In his mind, he began to strategize, ensuring the success of their mission.
"Okay, then I'll rest first. I exerted too much power earlier," said Maya, closing her eyes and stretching her tired muscles.
"Alright, Maya. Take a rest. I'm not sleepy yet," replied Ikran. His mind continued to churn with plans for the following day.
