FINANCIAL EDUCATION IN SCHOOLStudents learn to interpret literature in classrooms, measure using trigonometry and grasp how photosynthesis functions, but when experiencing the real world, students are mostly inexperienced and helpless after graduation. Consequently, it is suggested that schools should teach their students how to succeed in the world financially.

This subject is challenging though. Many educators agree that a school should teach students in subjects that they would most likely not meet again after graduation, so that educators will grow open-minded and well-informed people. Around the same time, it can be argued that in daily life, schools can impart skills that will be relevant. For example, mathematics is expected to not only communicate actual mathematics skills, but also teach students logic. Nevertheless, schools are required to train young people for their lives after high school. This aim is currently not completely fulfilled, as students are frequently unable to manage their finances sensibly and may often face serious problems. This could be improved by schools that teach students how to financially thrive.

It is doubtful that this crucial shift in the philosophy of education will take place soon, as the education system has been in place for too long to be modified easily. It would also be expensive to adjust this scale, because teachers would have to be educated and a syllabus would have to be developed for this possible subject. However, a community topic is accessible in some countries, such as Germany, in which politics and finance are discussed. This leaves a safer environment for students from Germany to deal with finances in their lives.

In conclusion, it will be very helpful to educate school students in financial matters. It would cost a large amount of money to add new material to the syllabus, but the whole society would benefit from students being better prepared for adult life.
