31 January 2025
Just like that, January is over. Time flies. Too fast. It feels like just yesterday I was making sarcastic remarks about New Year's resolutions, and now we’re heading into February.
One weird thing about working during Chinese New Year: if you don’t celebrate it and didn’t take leave, you still have to go to work. And guess what? I actually went in for half a day. Yes, I chose to work. Who am I? Maybe I wanted a quiet office. Maybe I just wanted to avoid being home alone while my wife enjoyed her leave. Either way, I showed up.
Surprisingly, the office felt... peaceful. No endless calls. No last-minute financial reports. No one running around talking about "synergy" and "cost optimization." It was the calmest workday in weeks.
By evening, I decided I needed to move my body, so I went for a swim. It’s been a while, and let’s just say my stamina isn’t what it used to be. A few laps in, and I was already questioning my life choices. But at least I did something active—one small step towards convincing myself that I’m not completely out of shape before I turn 39.
February is coming. Another month, another set of challenges. Let’s see what it brings.
