liyana,
Rumi, the Persian poet once quoted saying this.
The minute I heard my first love story,
I started looking for you, not knowing how blind it was
Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere,
They’re in each other all along.
And then, the late Yasmin Ahmad, the story teller was once quoted to say:
How do you know you’re in love?
It’s easy. It is like knowing your house on fire.
This one is an excerpt from the classic tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, Le Petit Prince.
You’re beautiful, but you’re empty… One couldn’t die for you.
But my rose, all on her own, is more important than all of you together,
Since she’s the one I’ve watered. Since she’s the one
I put under glass, since she’s the one I sheltered behind the screen.
Since she’s the one for whom I killed caterpillars. Since she’s the one
I listened to when she complained, or when she boasted,
or even sometimes when she said nothing at all.
Since she’s my rose.
liyana. This is a very unconventional way of saying it.
I thought of you. Every time I read them.
Still. I do not think they are sufficed to describe my feelings for you in its entirety.
